Account segments are divisions within your account numbers, each of which designates a different characteristic of the account.
Caution! Most agencies define their account segmentation in consultation with Tenmast when they first install the General Ledger program. After you have completed setup of the program, please use extreme caution when considering changes to your account segmentation! Changing segmentation can have wide-ranging effects throughout General Ledger. It may require you, for instance, to edit the account numbers of every one of your accounts. It may even cause you to lose data.
